Pros & Cons

PROS

The program is user friendly and is very helpful to visually aid jury and witnesses in cases at trial.

The ability to link all data together and the effectiveness of team streamlining. The organizational asset of CaseMap is not comparable to any other. I also like the ability to react within the software. CaseMap is great trail preparation and discovery organization software.

CaseMap is a great way to organize your relevant case law for a matter.

CaseMap is nearly infinitely customizable thanks to the insert field/spreadsheet feature. Aside from its normal uses, I've utilized it for everything from importing cell phone records so that I could filter/sort/timeline them to tracking/summarizing/organizing thousands of company policies & procedures. Multiple ways of filtering/sorting data make drilling down to what you need an absolute breeze. It provides a central repository for all of your case data. No more opening multiple memos or spreadsheets. It's a one stop shop!

Casemap is a great preparation tool. It is highly digital and efficient if used as such, and manages data for litigation. It visualizes the chronology of cases, depositions, sanctions, and helps as a visual tool. It helps seamlessly organize all the pieces into a clean set up so you don’t always have to comb for a piece used in litigation.

CONS

The program could have a little bit better graphics. The ones I have used in the past seem a bit dated, but they still get the job done!

The softwares works almost exclusively with Adobe for portable document formatting. This is a great tool for a larger law firm, but for smaller boutique firms the expense of the software might become exorbitant.

I can't think of any dislikes at this time!

The thing that I think would be the most handy would be to be able to retroactively have another user's spreadsheet display mirror my own. All of our users are already loaded into an opening template, so unless I add someone new and have their spreadsheet setup mirror my own, then I have to log in as them and show/hide/organize all of my custom fields. It would be something like a "mirror my fields" for xyz user button. Just an idea 🙂

This is a highly digital piece and not all people are accustomed to using it. As a student, this has given mixed results, though having used it in a work setting, it can be a great tool if everyone is on board with it. So much of litigation preparation comes down to preference - so if everyone is on the same page, this is a great tool for educational and actual litigation purposes.
