Care Collaborator was developed to combat the problem created in the aged care sector with the introduction of the new aged care reforms. From 1 July 2015, a home care package consumer has to receive a Home Care Agreement including a Care Plan and Individualised Budget. At the moment Home Care Providers are using low-tech manual spreadsheets or Access databases and having to go back to the office to transfer the data into the documents, then return to the consumer’s home to have them signed. If further changes are required, the process has to be repeated making it a very inefficient system.
